IHC Hockey is proud to announce that this is our 35th anniversary year developing hockey players from youth to pro in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The IHC business plan started on a scrap sheet of paper while sitting in my high school drafting class, and turned into a Dream Life! IHC Hockey schools started in a small rink in Bridgeville and IHC’s first full-sized rink hockey school took place at the Beaver County Ice Rink. IHC Hockey would like to thank all of their students, staff, families, and facilities that were a part of IHC Hockey over the past thirty-five years. A special thanks to all the rink managers who have hosted our programs, including the late, great Dale Rosetti, and Paul Shuttleworth. Dale Rosetti was such a big influence in my life and in my business. He taught me how to skate many years ago at the great Monroeville Mall Ice Palace. He was then a major influence on the growth of the IHC. I learned so much watching how he dealt with people and situations. He and Paul left us way too soon and they both are dearly missed. I have developed many great relationships with our rinks and rink mangers over the years, and we have been operating schools at many of these rinks since the day they first opened.
They say that the greatest form of flattery comes from imitation. It is great to see our former IHC students and instructors open up their own hockey schools and development businesses. Hockey businesses like Quest, National Elite, and Bertani Hockey Schools, among others, were all started by IHC alumni. It is great to see them living the dream!
It has been very rewarding to attend our students’ and instructors’ graduation parties, weddings, and baby baptisms. It is also very rewarding to see our former students and instructors become pro hockey players, doctors, ministers, police officers, and contributing members to society. Sadly, IHC Hockey has also lost two former instructors at young ages, Jamie Martz and Ryan Gebler. Both Jamie and Ryan were such positive influences on our students, as well as with our staff and myself. We will never forget them and the impact they had on the IHC. They will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
Lastly, I want to thank my family, my wife and parents, and especially the good Lord for allowing me to “LIVE THE DREAM” all these years!
As our 35th season winds down, I look forward to next year & all the new opportunities & challenges it will bring.
